Jim Peet joined our founding practice, Chas A
Harding & Son, in 1956 as a trainee quantity surveyor and
was made an Associate in 1966 and since 1971 has been a partner
of Chas A Harding & Son then Principal and Regional Partner
in the amalgamated practice of Widnell. He has had over 50 years
experience in quantity surveying and was responsible for cost
planning, documentation, post contract services and construction
cost management of numerous projects in all states of Australia.
Jim was responsible for the introduction
of computerised cost planning, tender documentation and contract
reporting systems in the early 1980's and remains closely involved
in the data and communications systems in Widnell's Asia Pacific
region.

Barry Trowse was resident director of our Adelaide practice
from 1990 to 1998 and joined the Sydney practice in 2001, becoming a consultant in 2007. He has over 25 years
experience in the construction industry in Australia and overseas and his keen interest
is cost planning and cost management, concentrating his skills in this area during the
last twenty years to become an effective cost consultant for the property owner.
During this period Barry has successfully planned and safeguarded the budget for
numerous projects ranging from hospitals and hotels to retail and education facilities.
Experience with large-scale projects has underlined an awareness
for a definitive understanding of obligations, forward-planning, programming,
proven procedures and clear communication lines, to provide reliable and timely advice.

David Summers has over 40 years experience in
quantity surveying including projects in Australia, U.K., Malaysia,
Thailand, Hong Kong and West Africa, all with Widnell. He was
Senior Partner of the Widnell Australian practice from 1981
until 1996. In addition to his surveying qualifications and
experience David has been a visiting lecturer at the University
of New South Wales and has delivered a number of conference
and seminar papers on building procurement and construction
cost control. David is a director of Widnell ltd, Hong Kong.

Kim Berry joined Widnell, Hong Kong in 1982 and
became Managing Director of the practice in 1987. He has 29
years experience in quantity surveying and has practiced in
Hong Kong since 1980. He has been involved in projects in Hong
Kong, China, Singapore, Macau, Thailand, Brunei, the United
Kingdom and the Middle East. He serves on the Surveying Courses
Panel of the HKIS and is currently Chairman of the Association
of Consultant Quantity Surveyors. Kim became a partner of Widnell
Australia in 1992.
GEOFFERY KING
(Overseas Partner)
Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Geoffrey King became a partner of Widnell in 1967. He
has extensive experience of providing project consultancy services worldwide
and has particular interests in developments in the UK, Europe, the Middle
East and West Africa having served as a Widnell resident manager there. He
was Senior Partner of the UK practice from 1985 until 1999. He is currently
Chairman of IEC Group in the UK providing strategic project and commercial
services to major international Clients.
