WIDNELL SENIOR CONSULTANT RECEIVES AUSTRALIA DAY HONOUR

David Summers has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) on 26th January 2008 for service to the construction industry, particularly in the field of quantity surveying and through leadership of professional bodies.

David was the National President of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors in 1984 and 1985 and was a councillor for 19 years. He has held numerous other voluntary positions including National President of The Building Science Forum of Australia and member of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal from 1986 to 1992.

He has worked in a number of countries as well as Australia and continues to carry out consultancy work for Widnell in Hong Kong. In Australia he represented Widnell on numerous major projects including the Redevelopment of Parliament House in Sydney, the Redevelopment of Walsh Bay, The Redevelopment and Restoration of the Queen Victoria Building and Sydney Harbour Casino.
