Continuing on from Widnell's development and maintenance of the data base covering the replacement and reinstatement valuation of the built assets of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney covering some 266 parishes and twelve diocesan organisations, we have recently completed a similar commission for the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst.

Geographically, this Diocese of 34 parishes covers the north western area of New South Wales from Yetholme near Lithgow in the east to Cobar in west and Cowra and Grenfell in the south to the Queensland border.

The commission included developing guidelines for parishes to follow in collecting the necessary information about buildings and contents inventory to enable meaningful replacement costs to be established.

This has been the first time that such a detailed analysis of Diocesan assets has been carried out and will provide a centralised data base to help in the efficient management of insurances and allied matters for the Diocesan Bishop's Registry.
